Terms & Conditions
Effective date: 2026-09-04
1. Agreement
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the live Oriental VIN Decoder Service (“Service”), operated by Oriental Outsourcing (“we”, “us”), including the website and API at vin-decoder.orientaloutsourcing.com. By creating an account, accessing the website, or calling the API, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
2. Service description
The Service provides live VIN format validation and specification decoding for USA and Canada vehicles. Decode output is specification assistance only. The Service does not provide vehicle history, ownership, title, lien, insurance, odometer, accident, theft, or valuation reports, and must not be relied on as a substitute for regulated vehicle history products or official government records.
3. Coverage and accuracy
Coverage varies by vehicle and market. Canadian-market VINs may decode when data is available; complete Canada coverage is not guaranteed. We do not warrant that every VIN will decode or that every attribute is complete or error-free. You are responsible for validating outputs before using them in production workflows, compliance checks, or customer-facing decisions.
4. Accounts and security
You must provide accurate registration information and keep credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account and API keys. Notify us promptly of unauthorized access. We may require email verification and offer optional two-factor authentication and Google sign-in. Sharing login credentials or publishing secret API keys is prohibited.
5. Free trial
New accounts receive a 14-day free trial with 50 requests per day and no credit card required at signup, unless we state otherwise. When a trial ends without a paid plan, the account becomes Inactive. Data is retained for 30 days so you can convert and restore access, after which retention and deletion rules in our Privacy Policy apply.
6. Plans, quotas, and overage
Paid plans (including Starter, Pro, and Business as listed on the Pricing page) include a daily quota for successful decode operations (single, OCR, and bulk as defined in product documentation). Format-only validation endpoints we designate as free do not consume quota. Unused daily allocation does not roll over. Usage beyond the daily quota is billed at $0.01 per request on the next monthly invoice unless Pricing or your written agreement states otherwise. Usage alerts may be sent at 80%, 90%, and 100% of daily quota.
7. Billing, payments, and grace period
Paid subscriptions bill monthly through Razorpay and/or PayPal at the prices shown at checkout or on Pricing, unless you have a separate written agreement. Failed payments trigger notification and a 7-day grace period to update payment details; after grace, the account may be Suspended with API access restricted. Cancellation is self-service and effective at the end of the current billing period (access continues until then; no proration unless a refund policy or law requires otherwise). Taxes may apply. Chargebacks may result in suspension pending review.
8. Acceptable use
You may not: (a) abuse, overload, or disrupt the Service; (b) bypass or attempt to bypass quotas, authentication, or security controls; (c) reverse engineer the Service except where prohibited by law; (d) use the Service for unlawful, fraudulent, or deceptive purposes; (e) scrape or resell raw Service access in violation of these Terms; or (f) submit unlawful content. We may rate-limit, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
9. API keys and developer use
API keys are credentials. The full key value is shown once at creation; store it securely and rotate if exposed. Use only the environments and scopes assigned to your plan. Do not embed secret keys in public client-side code or public repositories. Documentation and OpenAPI descriptions help you integrate; they do not expand your license beyond these Terms.
10. Intellectual property
We and our licensors own the Service, branding, software, and documentation. You retain ownership of VIN inputs and your application data. Subject to these Terms and your plan, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service and to use decode outputs in your internal or customer-facing products, provided you do not misrepresent the nature of the data.
11. Third-party services
Payment processing (Razorpay, PayPal), email delivery, OAuth sign-in, and hosting may be provided by third parties. Your use of those services may also be subject to their terms. We are not responsible for third-party outages outside our reasonable control, but we will work in good faith to restore Service availability.
12. Compliance and prohibited misuse
You must use the Service in compliance with applicable laws, including data-protection and export rules that apply to you. You must not use decode outputs to discriminate unlawfully, to impersonate official government vehicle records, or to claim that Oriental VIN Decoder provides vehicle history or title products.
13. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION OR THAT DECODE RESULTS WILL MEET YOUR SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS.
14. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE IN ANY TWELVE-MONTH PERIOD IS LIMITED TO THE FEES YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THAT PERIOD (OR, IF YOU ARE ON A FREE TRIAL, ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS).
15. Indemnification
You will defend and indemnify us against claims, damages, and expenses arising from your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms or applicable law, or your use of decode outputs in a manner that misleads third parties or violates third-party rights.
16. Suspension and termination
You may close your account through product settings or by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate access for non-payment, abuse, legal risk, or material breach. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends. Data retention, export, and erasure follow our Privacy Policy and product workflows (standard closure vs GDPR erasure).
17. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date on this page will change when updates take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, except where applicable law requires additional consent.
18. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to Oriental Outsourcing’s principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country require otherwise. Courts in that jurisdiction will have exclusive venue for disputes, subject to those mandatory rights.
